Oleum
Oleum, also called "fuming sulphuric acid", is a product of crenox's sulphuric acid production. It reacts with water with a strong heat reaction in which gaseous sulphur trioxide is converted into sulphuric acid. Combined with oleum, less concentrated recycled acids can thus also be used in ore digestion for titanium dioxide production. This saves considerable quantities of energy during acid recycling.
crenox supplies oleum also via pipelines to Chemical Park partners for the production of raw materials for washing powders.
Currently we sell the product Oleum within the Chempark Krefeld-Uerdingen only.
