crenox pursues new technologies

Cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum prolonged for three years

Krefeld, 11th August 2010. The Uerdingen based specialty chemicals producer crenox continues with the development of new Catalyst materials. Accordingly, the pertinent joint development contract with the Ruhr-University Bochum was recently prolonged for three years.

The cooperation with the prestigious University forms part of the announced new strategic orientation of the company. crenox, a leading international producer of Titanium dioxide, is developing new market segments and product groups by targeted investment. crenox is expanding its position particularly in the Catalyst segment in which novel products will be required in the near future.

Research into new DeNOx Catalyst materials in Bochum, headed by Professor Wolfgang Grünert, has been sponsored by crenox for a number of years. The highly promising results achieved so far have led to the unquestioned continuation of this project.

The programme for the next three year period encompasses the expansion of the facility used in the assessment of Catalyst materials from Uerdingen. Furthermore, the University will now employ a scientist who will be dedicated to this project. crenox itself has employed Chemists into its research department during the course of the last 12 months.
