TRONOX – Running at full capacity
Double digit growth in Q1/2010 / Administrator Stock: „We are significantly over Budget."Krefeld, 21st April 2010. The Uerdingen based specialty chemicals producer TRONOX Pigments GmbH announces full order books. As was to be heard today from the company's administrator, Eberhard Stock, capacities are fully utilized. "We are thus significantly ahead of our forecast", Stock emphasized. In a year-on-year comparison, volumes in Q1/2010 are up by well over 80%. Furthermore, the current orders on hand situation indicates that this development may well continue through the following quarters.
The company, specialized in the development and production of Titanium dioxide, had gone into receivership in March 2009 and has subsequently continued doing business very successfully under administration. Tronox Pigments GmbH currently employs some 550 people with a turnover of around 120 million Euros in 2009. A double digit growth in revenue is expected for 2010.
Titanium dioxide is a sought after raw material for diverse applications such as Paints & coatings, Plastics, and Laminated paper, as well for the production of Catalysts, Electroceramics and Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics.
Mr. Stock, the administrator, has managed to sustainably stabilize the business in the past 13 months of his tenure. Indeed, Stock was forced to employ 40 new employees in order to maintain the business on the current high level. His mid term target remains the sale of the business to a suitable investor.
