Leading Titanium dioxid expert to lead corporate development

Krefeld, 6th July 2011. Prof. Jochen Winkler has been appointed as head of corporate development at crenox.

Winkler is now responsible for the strategic development of the specialties chemicals producer. A particular focus of his work will be on developing new technologies, processes and products.

Winkler is one of the most renowned experts in the Titanium dioxide and coatings industries in Germany. His most recent responsibility was as head of development at Hemmelrath Lackfabrik GmbH in Klingenberg. Prior to this he worked for Sachtleben, the Duisburg based Titanium dioxide producer from 1985 to 2008, leading development from 1992 onwards.

Winkler studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and subsequently worked at the affiliated research institute for pigments and coatings. During his tenure at Sachtleben his emphasis was on technical service and development of pigments, but also included the development of catalysts and functional nanomaterials for UV attenuation as well as precursors for materials with a high mechanical integrity.

Prof. Winkler is the author of several topical textbooks. He holds an honorary professorship at the University of Stuttgart and gives lectures and seminars targeting coatings industry employees.
