Plastics & rubber

Titanium dioxide is by far the most important pigment for colouring plastics and rubber. crenox TiO2 pigments are available for almost all fields of application and meet the highest technical requirements. In addition to their optical qualities, they possess optimum light and weather resistance.

crenox products also guarantee very good processability with high thermal resistance. This is achieved, on the one hand, through the inorganic treatment of the TiO2 surface and, on the other, through micronisation. For outstandingly dispersible products, the pigments are additionally modified organically. crenox TiO2 products are insoluble in plastics and their softening agents and therefore migration resistant. That makes them ideal pigments for colouring e.g. thin films for food packaging.

Due to the generally relative low pigmentation in plastics, there is a demand in the plastics industry for TiO2 pigments with high tinting strentgh and a blue tint tone in PVC grey. The crenox pigments R-U-5, R-FK-2 and R-FK-3 were specially developed for such use and have proven their worth in practically all types of plastic.

crenox types not listed here may, in individual cases, nevertheless be used successfully in plastic applications. Our Technical Sales Service department will be happy to help you find the appropriate crenox type for your application.
