Paints & coatings

Titanium dioxide is the most important white pigment for the paint and coating industry. The R-KB series of crenox grades has been successfully used for decades in a great variety of areas of application and is continuously undergoing further development.

The technical characteristics for the use of titanium dioxide are determined, on the one hand, by the particle size distribution and, on the other hand, by the chemical components of inorganic and organic after-treatment. After-treatment optimises characteristics such as dispersibility, hiding power, chalking, thermal resistance, durability and deactivation of photocatalytic reactions. Optimum process control and production monitoring lead to continuous improvements in consistency and quality. As a result, crenox customers consistently achieve considerably better results in the production of paints and coatings.

The titanium dioxides made by crenox for the paint industry can be divided into the following technical application areas:
  • TiO2 as universal pigment
  • TiO2 with outstanding durability
  • TiO2 with excellent optical characteristics
  • Specialty applications

crenox grades not listed here may, in individual cases, nevertheless be used successfully in paints and coatings. Our Technical Sales Service department will be happy to help you find the appropriate crenox grade for your application.
